The Kansas City Zoo!

Alex's new monkey friend.

Alex "rubbing the lion's belly"!

We haven't done a whole lot since being in Kansas City, but we did go to the zoo. It was, like the Oklahoma Aquarium, a whole new experience for me. The only zoo I've ever been to is the Jackson Zoo. So, to go to a place where we only covered 1/2 the park in 2 1/2 hours was a little mind boggling. It was amazing. They have glass barriers up for some of the "bigger" attractions, such as the lions, gorillas, and so forth. This allows the viewers to get up close with animals that you would normally only see from a distance. I probably sound so sheltered to some of you, considering this is nothing new to most people. Oh well. We all had a blast, despite the heat! Again, I took plenty of pictures. I'm going to have a fascinating scrapbook when we finish traveling!

Alex really seemed to enjoy every animal, so I can't say he had a favorite. Although, he looked at the giraffe and said "Way!" So, we reinforced that the giraffe was "way" up high. He also, while "rubbing the lion's belly" growled, which I thought was too cute! He laughed at most of the animals antics, but he tried to get in with the monkeys. So, I guess I just have a "wild child".

On to Kansas City!

His first mud/rock pie! Yummy!

My sexy hubby! He wasn't even trying to pose...he was just sleepy.

Alex's new tricycle!

We left on June 20th for Kansas City, MO. I liked that trip a lot better than the one to Tulsa. It took half the time and so it wasn't as hard on all of us! Praise God! We really like the RV park we're staying at and would highly recommend it to anyone as a camp site if you're ever in the Kansas City Area. We're actually about 20 minutes from Kansas City, but there is plenty to do here! Alex loves the playground and the pool. If we're not out and about, that's where we go to get outside of the trailer. It's really beautiful here also. It's been truly amazing to see all the places we've been to (and through)!

Alex's 2nd Birthday!

Wow, I can't believe how fast time flies. Alex turned 2 on June 5th! He is already showing so much personality. He's incredibly flirty...watch out girls! He's also very helpful around the house, helping me clean and keeping up with his toys. It's just amazing to watch this little individual learn and explore new things daily! We are so blessed to have him as our son and we thank God everyday for entrusting us with him!

For his party, we had cake and his favorite dinner, salisbury pasta. I know that sounds silly, but he absolutely loves it! Of course, we had to do a theme, so we had Curious George balloons, and a Curious George tablecloth, plates, and napkins! He absolutely loved it and he couldn't get enough of the cake...or should I say the icing? At one point (as you can see in the pictures), he had two forks. I guess he thought one wasn't getting it to his mouth fast enough. Ha ha!

The Oklahoma Aquarium

We have officially found one of Alex's favorite places to go...the aquarium! He always loved going to the Natural Science Museum and the Zoo in Jackson, but neither he nor I had ever experienced an aquarium like the one in Oklahoma! It is incredible! He had the best time and, of course, so did Chip and I! I've got a lot of pictures, but I'm having to pick and choose so I can still have room for other blogs. Ha ha! Enjoy!

Traveling to Tulsa.

Our neighbor in Southaven, Lisa.
Alex absolutely loved her!

Well, we left Southaven on June 3rd to travel to Tulsa, OK. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be to leave. I guess for the simple fact that I get attached to places rather quickly. We packed up that morning, said goodbye to our friends/neighbors and then set out for another part of our journey. When we were about 20 minutes from our destination, we stopped at a resting point off the Muskogee Turnpike. All of a sudden, it was like God was painting in the sky! I have rarely seen something so beautiful. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we did seeing it in person!

Southaven, MS

This was our first stop for our traveling adventure! It's only 3 hours from Brandon, our hometown. We had such a good time here and met some amazing people! God truly blessed us, not only with new friends but also a great church to attend should we ever return to Southaven. The people there are so welcoming and kind! They truly showed the meaning of "Christians"! Here are some of our pictures from Southaven. Enjoy!

So, I have a lot of catching up to do.

I haven't had the internet for quite some time now. Now that I have it, I will be better about keeping this page updated! For a quick update, Chip and I sold our house in Pearl back in March of this year. We began traveling with Chip's job in April and have loved just about every minute of it. It has truly been a blessing. So far we have been to Southaven, MS (not much further than home), Tulsa, OK, and now we're in Kansas City, MO. It's been quite an adventure! I guess I'll have to back track and put up information and pics from our travels so far. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well!
